Shillong Jan 12: A house was reduced to ashes in an inferno that broke out at Malki here on Saturday evening.

Police said that no one was injured in the incident.

Police said that when one of the occupants in the house lighted a gas stove, the house caught fire due to leakage of a voltage regulator.

As many as eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames before licking other houses close to the place of occurrence.
