Shillong, Apr 12: A delegation of members of the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) will meet Governor, Ganga Prasad on Friday, to seek his intervention into the alleged delay by the state government to forward a list of executive members (EMs) to the Governor for his approval.

The delegation to be led by newly elected JHADC chief executive member Moonlight Pariat, include 10 MDCs of the United Democratic Party (UDP) and 8 members belonging to the Congress.

Sources informed that lone MDC of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also expected to join the delegation.

Sources in the Council said that the delegation would seek immediate intervention of the Governor into the matter.

“We are not happy with the attitude of the chief minister Conrad K Sangma. The file is with him but he is not willing to forward it to the governor for his approval,” one of the MDCs alleged.

Meanwhile, 10 MDCs of the National People’s Party (NPP) are presently sitting in the opposition.
