Shillong Dec 13: The BSF carried out a joint operation on destruction of illegal cultivation of hemp under the Supervision of B D Sangma, Additional Magistrate South West Garo Hills within Indian village Kuligoan PS Mahenderganj Distt South Garo Hills.

During the operation, approximately 2500-2600 plants in 32 patches of cultivated land of hemp were destroyed.

Destruction of the remaining illegal cultivated hemp in 40 to 45 patches will be conveyed after discussion with the Deputy Commissioner, Ampati. All these cultivated hemp is meant for smuggling purpose and exposed nexus between Ganja Syndicates and villagers of above village.
