Shillong, Nov 28: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will soon seek a clarification from the Governor Ganga Prasad regarding the decision to forward the KHAD (Village Administration) Bill 2015 to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The decision was taken at a meeting convened by the KHADC chief executive member, P.N. Syiem with the delegation of traditional heads under the banner of the Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SNSBH) here on Tuesday.
The delegation during the meeting stressed the need for a meeting among the state government, the KHADC and the traditional heads to discuss the matter concerning the indigenous community.
The Village Administration Bill was passed by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) in 2015 to empower traditional institutions and their heads.
