Shillong, July 23: The Khun Hynñiewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) State Youth Wing condemned the state government for issuing summon notice its leader in connection with the protest related to the issue of Them ïew Mawlong.

In a statement issued here on Monday, KHNAM State Youth Wing president, Thomas Passah said that the youth wing strongly opposed the notice summoning the vice president, Iengskhem Suting on the issue, adding that such action was an attempt by police to harass leaders of the youth wing and the local people.

Accusing the government of being partial, Passah alleged that the authorities concerned have failed to take action against other people who were seen raising their swords during the protest.

The youth wing president also asked the state government to dedicate its time on how to relocate settlers from Them ïew Mawlong at the earliest.
