Shillong, Mar 27: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has asked all Central offices, companies and agencies to respect the sentiments of Christians on Good Friday.

“We urged all offices, companies and agencies to remain closed on Good Friday, which is an important day of the Christian community in the state,” KSU general secretary, Donald V. Thabah said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

He also warned if any office is found to be working on the said day, the Union will be compelled to take stern action.

Meanwhile, Thabah informed that the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) had also issued a fresh circular declaring Good Friday as a holiday.

Earlier, the ICAR had issued a circular directing its employees to work on March 30.
