Shillong, January 29, 2026: The Delhi Unit of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Thursday stepped in promptly to assist a young boy from Meghalaya who collapsed in Delhi and was found in a critical condition, ensuring his safety and access to urgent medical care.
Upon receiving information about the incident, members of the KSU Delhi Unit immediately rushed to the spot. Despite the boy’s family having already lodged an FIR with the authorities, officials on the ground entrusted the responsibility of the case to the KSU members once they arrived. The Union subsequently shifted the boy to a hospital, where he received timely medical treatment.
Following his discharge, the boy has been accommodated at Meghalaya House in Delhi, where he is currently safe. He is awaiting the arrival of his family members from Shillong, who are expected to take him back home.
KSU Delhi Unit President Marbiang Khongwir expressed gratitude to Dr Arshan Khongwir for his timely intervention and support at the hospital, which played a crucial role in ensuring proper medical care and coordination during the emergency.
The Khasi Students’ Union reaffirmed its commitment to standing by members of the community in times of distress and reiterated that it will continue to extend all possible assistance to those in need, especially students and youths from Meghalaya residing outside the state.
