Shillong May 7:  The Khasi Students Union (KSU) has opposed the holding of a ‘Pool Party’ at Umbir in Ri Bhoi District on May 11.

The KSU central executive committee (CEC) and the North Khasi Hills District unit on Monday held a meeting with the organizers – Ultra Societies, after a video clipping inviting people to join the pool party went viral on social media.

“We have asked the organizers not to hold the pool party and they have agreed,” KSU general secretary Donald V Thabah said in a statement issued here.

He said the decision was taken on the ground that it is proposed to be organised in a manner which will affect the dignity of our youth adding moreover such function will not benefit the society.

The KSU maintained that the organizers can organise such party among themselves without inviting the public.
