Karnataka: Meghalaya based student drowned in Kudle beach, dies

Karnataka, Aug. 16 : A college student was reportedly missing after drowning into the arabian sea when he tried to save two tourists drowing in Kudle beach of Gokarna in Kumta taluk, that happened on 14th August, Monday. However, his body was traced yesterday on 15th August, Tuesday at same beach.

The student identified as Wanteilang Jyrwa (23), a resident of Meghalaya state, was pursuing 1st year MSC in Mysuru’s All India Institute of Speech and Hearing. Sources informed that a group of seven students from the college had visited Gokarna. While enjoying the sea they witnessed two tourists drowing in sea.

To save them, Jyrwa swam into the sea and went missing after hit by a huge tide. He had taken shelter in the orphanage having neither parents nor relatives.
