Lai-Lyngdoh area demands issuing of NOC for construction of Nongstoin-Ranikor road

Shillong Dec 5: Headman under Lai-Lyngdoh area in West Khasi Hills district has asked the KHADC not to delay in issuing NOC for construction of Nongstoin-Ranikor via Wahkaji Road for the benefit of the people.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Stanley Kharbani member of the Lai-Lyngdoh area said that a meeting held on November 25 at Kynroh ,Nongstoin with members of the 32 villages under the Lai-Lyngdoh area, has decided to demand from Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) not to issue the no objection certificate for the construction of the two-lane road project.

He urged the Chief executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and the Executive Committee (EC) to hand over the NOC for immediate construction of the 2-lane road.

The Lai Lyngdoh area however lauded chief minister Mukul Sangma for scraping the proposed Uranium mining project in 2016.

“We urge the MLAs and MDCs of constituencies in West Khasi Hills to address issues related to the development,” he said.
