Shillong, July 8: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has decided to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of nominated member, Bindo M Lanong to pursue matters related to various Bills passed by the Council which are lying pending with the state government for the past many years.
Informing this decision on Monday, KHADC chief executive member, Teiñwell Dkhar said that around 39 Bills of the Council have been lying pending with the District Council Affairs (DCA) department of the state government and Governor since 1999-2000.
Lanong, the former CEM of the KHADC was nominated as member of the Council recently.
“This committee headed by our nominated member will follow up the matter with the government,†Dkhar said while informing that a notification to this effect will be issued within this week.
“We want Lanong to pursue with the government various pending bills passed by the Council especially Land Bill and Clan Bill,†Dkhar said.
