Shillong Apr 09, 2020: Mawlai MDC, Teiborlang Pathaw on Thursday started distributing rice to the people through various Dorbar Shnongs to help the people during this lockdown period.

The distribution on the first day started from Madan Mawkhar, Umrynjah, Umphrew, Mawsiatkhnam, Nongkohlew, Umsaw Mawjynrong and Mawtawar by the MDC who handed over to foodgrains to the various headmen to distribute the same to various households.

The MDC was accompanied by the functionaries of Mawlai Social Service Organization (MSSO)-20.

The MDC brought the rice to all the villages and handed to the respective villages.

Mawlai is the biggest constituency in the state Assembly and KHADC.

Pathaw said that in this time of crisis, it is his duty to find out ways and means to ease the problem being faced by the people due to the ongoing lockdown.

“This is a small assistance as an MDC and we need the cooperation of all to help our people,” Pathaw said.

Pathaw said that the distribution would continue in the coming days to other villages and localities in Mawlai constituency.
