Shilllong May 23: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) declared the Results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination, 2017 (Arts) Stream Today at 10 am.
Duyu Asung of St George Secondary School in Nongmynsong and Lamphrang Lyngdoh of Ram Krishna Mission HS School Cherrapunji shared the top rank as they both notched up a total of 568 marks to obtain the highest in six subjects. Rahul Sen of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Tura, one of the oldest institutions in the western part of the State, and Idarikor Warshong of Eriben Presbyterian Secondary School, Shillong, jointly held the second position.
Eight other students from Garo Hills, two each from Aeroville Secondary School and Sherwood School, one each from St Xavier’s Tura and Holy Family Secondary School in Rongjeng, who together with 5th rank holder Mainak Debnath of Bhaitbari HS School surfaced on the MBOSE top 20 position rankings. Over 50,000 students had appeared for the SSLC exam in the state this year. As in previous years, pass percentage in 2017 hovered around the halfway mark at 54.04% and girls outshone boys—14,859 of them passing in comparison to 12,688 boys.
Once again St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School of Shillong dominated the top ten lists in Arts stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination 2017, results of which were declared by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) on Tuesday.
Dimsonjem Vaiphei topped in Arts stream by securing 440 while Ricarldy Dkhar of Synod College secured the second position and Calvin Ginminlien Zou of St.Edmund College secured in the third position.
