Shillong, July 24, 2025: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has announced a 32-member shortlist for its senior men’s team ahead of the 2025-26 BCCI domestic cricket season, following comprehensive selection trials and performance reviews from the past two seasons.
According to a statement issued by MCA Honorary Secretary Rayonald Kharkamni, the list was finalised based on players’ performances during the recent selection matches and their track record in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
To further strengthen the squad, the team will also include three guest professional players, whose names are yet to be disclosed. Additionally, Bipin Kumar Ray has been named as a standby for Adarsh Joshi, pending clearance of the latter’s bowling action by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The MCA has planned a final selection-cum-preparatory camp in the first week of September, and all shortlisted players have been instructed to maintain their fitness and continue training rigorously in the lead-up.
The senior team’s campaign will begin with the Ranji Trophy (First-Class format) from October 15, followed by the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) from November 26, and finally the Vijay Hazare Trophy (One Day) from December 24.
