Shillong, Apr 11: The North Eastern Council has convened a regional plan meeting for development of Science and Mathematics education in schools in the North Eastern Region at Dispur on Thursday.

The meeting, the first of its kind in the region, will be chaired by NEC member, C. K. Das at NEDFi House, Dispur at 11 am.

According to a statement issued by the NEC on Wednesday, holding such a meeting assumed importance after the successful completion of the first Niti Ayog, NE Forum meeting at Agartala.

NEC (Human Resource Development) director, Kh Siille Anthony, is coordinating the meeting.

Senior officials from department of school education from various states of the North East will attend the meeting to deliberate on the issue and make a perspective planning.

The report of a study prepared recently by NEDFi on Science and Mathematics education in the North Eastern Region will be also discussed at length and reviewed for drawing action plans.
