Shillong, Aug 06: Metbah Lyngdoh, the Honourable Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, has inaugurated a two-day International Conference on Innovation in Management, Science, and Technology at the University of Meghalaya.
The conference was organised by the USTM Department of Computer Science & Electronics in collaboration with the American Institute of Management & Technology (AIMT) and was funded by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (USA).
Delegates and participants from 15 different countries have gathered at USTM will participate in this two-day Conference, which will feature 25 sessions in total. Scholars from India and abroad will present approximately 200 research papers in both offline and online formats.
Metbah Lyngdoh, while addressing the conference stated that USTM’s attention to underprivileged rural students, free education, and the Payback policy are all commendable steps. “Science and technology are critical for economic growth,” he said, adding that the conference will “open new doors for research in emerging interdisciplinary areas.” He was speaking about the critical role of science and technology in India’s economic roadmap.
The delegates in attendance also distributed a Conference Souvenir.
Following Prof. GD Sharma, VC, USTM’s felicitation address, Dr. Deva D. Sharma from The Global Knowledge Foundation (GKF), USA extended his speech and stated that the conference allows scholars to network. Dr. H.S. Hota, Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur, India, delivered the session’s keynote address. Prof. Dinesh Kumar Sharma of Maryland University also spoke at the event.
