Shillong,Apr 11: The Meghalaya government is examining proposals related to creation of new civil sub divisions.

In his reply to a question raised by NPP MLA, Brening A. Sangma, whether the government has taken steps to create a new Civil Sub Division at Dalu, Home Minister, James K. Sangma said that the matter would be examined by the government.

To a query raised by Mawsynram MLA, Himalaya Shangpliang on the need to convert Mawsynram into a civil sub division, the Minister said that the government would also examine the matter even as he stated that Meghalaya being a small state is also having limited resources.

Shangpliang said that the demand for creation of Mawsynram civil sub division was a long demand of the people, and creating a civil sub division would bring administration closer to the people.
