Shillong, Marh 16 : Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on wednesday informed the Assembly that the State Government has decided to segregate the recruitment process for Meghalaya Civil Service and Meghalaya Police Service in the State. Replying to a question raised by the Leader of Opposition, Dr Donkupar Roy during the Question Hour, Dr Sangma said that the Meghalaya Public Service Commission from now onwards would follow separate recruitment procedure for MCS and MPS cadre officers. Earlier, the Chief Minister informed that the total number of vacancies of the Meghalaya Civil Service and Meghalaya Police Service stand at 42 and 15 respectively. The Government on March 6th has requested the Meghalaya Public Service Commission to fill up the vacancies at the earliest, the Chief Minister added.
