Shillong, May 22: Bureaucrats in Meghalaya today expressed shock, disbelief and anguish over the judgement passed by the Special CBI court where Meghalaya Chief Secretary, K.S. Kropha was convicted along with others in an alleged coal allocation scam case.
A statement issued by the Meghalaya IAS Officers Association, said that an emergent meeting held today has expressed shock, disbelief and anguish over the judgement passed by the Special CBI Court which convicted Kropha, along with others while discharging his duties as Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Coal.
“The officers unanimously expressed their support to him (Kropha) and his family during this difficult phase. The officer who has served 35 years of selfless service in various capacities is known for his unimpeachable integrity and has had an unblemished service record,” the statement said.
The Association also expressed firm support to Kropha and decided to take up the matter with the Central IAS Officers Association, New Delhi.
“The fraternity of officers fervently hope that justice shall prevail and Kropha would be honorably exonerated from all charges,” the statement added.
