Shillong, Dec 21: Three persons including a woman were arrested and seized from them over 30,000 Amphetamines tablets worth nearly Rs 3 crore in the city on Friday.
Acting on specific information that there were two people from Manipur staying in a hotel at police bazaar area, police immediately swung into action and arrested the alleged drug peddlers.
Superintendent of Police (City) S.A. Rynjah said that the accused persons admitted that they indulged in selling drugs and they have kept the supply in a house at Madanrting Block I.
On their leading, police raided the house at Madanrting owned by a local person and seized around 30,000 Amphetamines or WY tablets weighing 2kgs 900 grams.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the drugs were brought from outside the state for supplying in Shillong city.
A case has been registered and the three accused persons have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
The arrested persons were identified as Hanifa Bibi, Md Azad Khan and Md Samir Khan
