Meghalaya Polls: Sixteen candidates submit nominations on day three

Shillong, Feb 02: Sixteen candidates filed their nominations on Friday, the third day for filing of papers, taking the total to 25 candidates who have submitted their nominations for the Assembly polls to be held on February 27.

The candidates include, sitting Congress MLA from Mawphlang, Kennedy Cornelius Khyriem sitting MLAs of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), Diosstarness Jyndiang from Nongstoiñ and K Phlastingwell Pangniang from Rambrai-Jyrngam and Independent MLA from Baghmara, Samuel M. Sangma.

Member of autonomous district council, Donkupar Sumer of the United Democratic Party from Umsning, former MLA from Rongara Siju, Rophul S. Marak as Independent, Evalyni Kharbani as Independent and Zachary Shadap of the Khun Hynñiewtrep National Awakening Movement from Mawhati constituency, Welborn Bynnud as Independent from Shella, Pios Kurbah of the Congress from Mawthadraishan, John Dandaly Sangma of NCP from Ranikor, Bestondar C Lyngdoh as Independent from Mawkyrwat, Starline Momin as Independent from Resubelpara, Pillarson G. Momin and Santush Sangma of the UDP from from Tikrikilla and Raksamgre respectively and Diliram G. Marak as Independent from Selsella. (EoM)
