Meghalaya sees impressive voter turnout in KHADC and JHADC elections

Shillong, Feb 22: The District Council Affairs (DCA) department today released the overall voter turnout in the KHADC and the JHADC elections.

In the KHADC, Nongspung-Sohiong constituency recorded the highest voter turnout with 86.09 percent while, Nongthymmai constituency recorded the lowest with 59.75 percent.

The polling station with the highest voter turnout was 3-Maw-Ah under Langkyrdem-Laitkroh constituency with 96.99 percent and the lowest voter turnout was at 59-Madanrting-Thembasuk Rum A under Nongthymmai constituency with 4.49 percent.

For the KHADC the overall voter turnout was 76.77 percent.

Meanwhile, in the JHADC, Sumer constituency recorded the highest voter turnout with 91.46 percent and Jowai North constituency with 75.28 percent recorded the lowest.

The polling station with the highest turnout was 13-Maskut under Moodymmai-Nongkhroh constituency with 99.52 percent while the lowest was at 14-Khaddum under Saipung-Nongkhlieh constituency with 51.34 percent.

The counting of votes will be held on February 24.       

For the JHADC the overall voter turnout was 85.58 percent.
