Shillong, Sep 17: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has announced its U-19 men’s squads for the upcoming BCCI Vinoo Mankad Trophy and Cooch Behar Trophy for the 2025-26 season.
The junior men’s selection committee finalized the team after several rounds of selection matches and a review of players’ past performances. Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem has been named captain, with Gaurav Narleng as vice-captain. The team will be coached by Synrapsing Riahtam.
The Vinoo Mankad Trophy, a one-day tournament, will be the first competition on the calendar. Meghalaya have been placed in the plate group alongside Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Sikkim. The round-robin matches will be held in Chandigarh from October 9, with the top two teams progressing to the final.
To prepare for the event, Meghalaya will hold a residential training camp at Jagiroad, Assam, from September 24 to October 5. All 15 selected players, along with the five standbys and support staff, will assemble at Polo Ground, Shillong, on September 23 before leaving for Jagiroad. The team will depart for Chandigarh on October 6.
