Shillong, July 16: The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) has announced the final squad for the Junior Boys’ National Football Championship 2025 (Tier 1) for the prestigious Dr BC Roy Trophy. The tournament will be held in Amritsar, with Meghalaya placed in a tough Group B alongside defending champions West Bengal, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
Meghalaya will open their campaign against Kerala on July 21, followed by matches against West Bengal on July 23 and Tamil Nadu on July 25.
The 20-member squad, full of promising young talent, will be led by experienced youth coach Seibor Sana. At a brief send-off ceremony in Shillong, MFA President Hamlet Dohling, Vice-President Cliff Nongrum, and Executive Member Freddy Kharpran conveyed their best wishes to the team, urging them to play with pride and determination.
Last year, Meghalaya finished third in Group C and failed to advance beyond the group stage. This time, with renewed energy and a focused squad, they aim for a stronger showing.
