Shillong, Jun 4: The Meghalaya government will convene a meeting with all religious leaders on Friday to decide on re-opening of places of worship in the State.
“We are going to take their views and suggestions before reopening places of worship. The meeting will discuss the standard of procedures and protocol without really affecting the sentiments of religious groups,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters.
The Central government has allowed re-opening of religious places and places of worship for the public in phase manners.
Places of worship including churches in the state have remained shut for the past two months owing to the national lockdown to combat against the COVID-19 pandemic.
