Shillong, Oct 19: Jakrem SC produced a commanding performance to register a stunning 8–1 victory over Mawsawrit SC in Group B of the Meghalaya Women’s State League 2025 in Mawlum Tyrsad on Saturday.

In the same group, Mawlum Tyrsad SC defeated Bright Future SSCC 2–0 to consolidate their position at the top of the table. Meanwhile, over in Shillong, Na Rympei FA survived a late scare to overcome Attacker’s YC 4–3 in a pulsating Group A encounter.

For Na Rympei, Tracy Rympei and Pynhun Shulet scored early in the 13th and 16th minutes to give their team a 2–0 lead, before Pynibha Rangthaluh pulled one back for Attacker’s. Tracy and Pynhun added one goal each in the 78th and 80th minutes, extending Na Rympei’s lead to 4–1.

However, Pynibha — who was in sensational form — struck twice more (81’ P, 86’) to complete her hat-trick and bring Attacker’s back into contention. Despite the late surge, Na Rympei managed to hold on for all three points.

Attacker’s YC, despite suffering narrow defeats in all three of their games (including a 1–0 loss to Pay For Right FA earlier), earned plaudits for their fighting spirit and improvement with every match.

In Mawlum Tyrsad, Jakrem SC (representing Mawkyrwat DSA) outclassed Mawsawrit SC (of Tyrsad Area SA) with a flurry of goals. Iaphisha Marbaniang led the rout with four goals (30’, 47’, 72’, 85’), while Chibasal Sangma (22’), Bahunlang Synrem (38’), Baiashisha Lyngkhoi (82’), and Cathrine Kharkongor (88’) were also on target. D Umdor (57’) netted the lone consolation for Mawsawrit.

Later, L Khongsit (4’, 38’) scored a brace in the first half as Mawlum Tyrsad SC defeated Bright Future SSCC (of Pyndengumiong DSA) 2–0. The result capped off an unbeaten group stage for Mawlum Tyrsad, who topped Group B with 13 points from five matches, securing their place in the next round.

There will be just one fixture tomorrow in Group A, where Lapalang SSCC (of Riwar Mihngi FA) will face Laitkor SC (Shillong SA) at 10 AM at the SSA Stadium, Shillong.
