Shillong, Nov 14: The All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association has announced that Larisha Kurbah has been selected for the Senior National Coaching Camp to be held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre in Lucknow.
Larisha, one of Meghalaya’s most promising young karatekas, has consistently excelled at both state and national levels. She clinched gold at the India Open International Karate Championship 2023 in New Delhi, secured silver at the SEIKOKAI All India Karate Championship 2024 in New Delhi, and another silver at the DEO HAH All India Karate Championship 2024 in Guwahati. Earlier this year, she added to her achievements with a bronze medal at the Senior National Championship 2025 in Hyderabad.
The national camp, scheduled from 17 November to 31 December, will feature top karate athletes from across the country as they prepare for major upcoming events.
The 19-year-old athlete competes in the Women’s Individual Kumite (-61 kg) category and is widely regarded as one of the rising stars of Meghalaya’s martial arts circuit.
