Shillong, Mar 19: The MSCPCR has strongly condemned the individuals responsible for the death of two students from Meghalaya who died after consuming leftover food from a Holi celebration at a private hostel in Karnataka.
Chairperson Agatha K Sangma expressed sadness over the incident, stating that any loss of life is regrettable, especially when it involves children.
The Commission also said that it is working closely with the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights to ensure that appropriate measures are taken against those involved.
They have also requested a detailed report to assess and address the gaps that led to the violation of the Right to Protection for the children.
