Shillong June 11: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday inspected a site at Dalmagre near Tura for construction of a multi-utility indoor stadium, which is part of the infrastructural development initiated by the State government for hosting the National Games in 2022.
Home Minister James K. Sangma and Sports Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh and other officials were present during the inspection, besides North Tura MLA, Thomas A. Sangma who is also the Advisor to the Chief Mninister, Government Chief Whip, Marcus N. Marak, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh and officials from the concerned departments.
In order to improve connectivity, a four-lane highway is being proposed to connect the Games site with the main town of Tura.
The Chief Minister also held a meeting with the village headman and landowners to seek their cooperation for the smooth progress of the project.
