NEHU Vice Chancellor extends leave till Dec 29

Shillong, Dec 16: North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Vice Chancellor, Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla on Monday extended his leave till December 29.

In an emailed letter to the University’s Registrar, Shukla stated, “In continuation of my email dated 1st December 2024 regarding my earned leave, I request an extension of the same till 27th December 2024 (with suffix 28 & 29 December) due to unforeseen circumstances.”

He also stated in the email that in case of any urgent academic or administrative matters he can be reached via phone or email/online.

The Vice-Chancellor also stated that the senior professor or Pro Vice-chancellor shall look at the routine work of the university during his absence.

It may be mentioned that the extended leave of Prof Shukla ended on December 13.

The first order to constitute the committee was on November 14 and the panel was to submit the report within 15 days on November 29.

The two-member committee constituted by the Ministry of Education had sought a 15 days extension on November 29 to submit their findings.
