NETU comes up in Promotion of Taekwondo in the state

Shillong, Oct. 24: A Special General Meeting of The North East Taekwondo Union (NETU) was held in Shillong on Tuesday in Shillong,major decisions were taken for promotion of Taekwondo in the region as well as more cohesiveness among the 8 Member State of North East. Taekwondo Associations. As part of the action plan, Black Belt Examination would be conducted in Shillong and the 4th N.E. Zonal Championship would be conducted in Karimganj (Assam). On first week of December 2017.

The meeting was Presided over by Shri Pele Khezhie, President of the NETU and President of the Nagaland Taekwondo Association, the meet was attended by 7 of the 8 Member units of NETU and represented by their Presidents and General Secretary. Speaking on the occasion the president of NETU express his delight at turnout and called upon the gathering to express their view in a free and Frank manner and put forward their dreams and plans for NETU so as to uplift taekwondo in the region and to make north east as the taekwondo capital of India. Also speaking on the occasion Shri S. Swett, President, Meghalaya Taekwondo Association and Vice President of the NETU said that MTA was keen enough to make inroad preparation for the forth coming national games where he strongly believe Meghalaya will be the most sought team in the madel tally in taekwondo event.

Winding up the deliberations, Shri Sokun Singh, Secretary General, NETU and Vice President, Arunachal Taekwondo who is also the Treasurer of the Taekwondo Federation of India said that he was very enthusiastic seeing the quality of the deliberations and the deep commitment of the Member States and he would represent the hopes and aspirations of the North East at the National Level with double the commitment and zeal.
