Shillong, Aug 24: New Governor of Meghalaya, Tathagata Roy will take oath on at the Taj Bhavan here on Saturday.

Roy, the Governor of Tripura who was transferred to Meghalaya, will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Mohammed Yaqoob Mir at 6 pm.

Roy will succeed the present Governor, Ganga Prasad who has been transferred and appointed as the new Governor of Sikkim.

Prasad took over as the Governor of Meghalaya on October 5, last year. The transfer and appointment of these new Governors was made by the President, Ram Nath Kovind on August 21.
