Shillong, Jan 9: The ruling National People’s Party (NPP) and its partner, the United Democratic Party (UDP) on Wednesday released more candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) to be held on February 27.
While the NPP announced its second list of four candidates, the UDP released its fourth list of three candidates.
The NPP candidates include, Raton Manick Mukhim from Mawhati, Holiwell Khongstid from Nongshken, Pynthymmaibor Chyne from Shella and Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie from Mawsynram, all under the KHADC.
The NPP however is yet to announce the name of KHADC chief executive member, Hispreaching Son Shylla, who is the sitting MDC of Nongkrem constituency.
The three candidates of the UDP include Bhawan Chyrmang who resigned from Congress and will be contesting from Saphai Constituency, and Zosiama Thianglai who resigned as President NPP East Jaiñtia Hills and will contest from Saipung Constituency under the JHADC, and Frankie Paul Marbaniang who will contest from Mawkynrew constituency under KHADC.
