NPP legislators merge with NDPP in Nagaland

Dimapur, Mar 20: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Wednesday suffered a major set back when two of its party legislators in Nagaland merged with the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).

An NDPP statement said that NPP legislators – – Imnatiba and L Khumo Khiamniungan – – merged with the NDPP.

“The merger will strengthen the PDA Government under the progressive leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton,” the statement said.

“It will enhance stability and ensure that the PDA Government remains focused on the agenda of all round development in an inclusive manner,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, all rank and file of the NDPP led by Chief Minister Rio and the Party President Chingwang Konyak welcomed the two legislators into the party fold along with their supporters.
