One Day Orientation Programme on National Urban Livelihood Mission held

Shillong, Dec. 7: The Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, under the aegis of National Health Mission, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong organized a One Day Orientation Programme of Urban Local Bodies on National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) at the Conference Hall, Pasteur Institute, Shillong on 5th December, 2017.

The main objective of the programme was to sensitize all the stakeholders on the implementation of NUHM in the District and to focus on the importance of inter-sectoral convergence for the effective implementation of NUHM.

District MCH Officer, East Khasi Hills, Dr. J. B. Ranee highlighted the various health programmes under NHM and services provided by the Urban Health Centres and also stressed on the importance of immunization and the upcoming Intensified Mission Indradhanush.

State Mission Manager, National Urban Livelihood Mission, Shri S. Kharjana highlighted the various schemes of the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), while Urban Health Consultant, East Khasi Hills, Dr. M. Shadap gave a detailed presentation on NUHM. The programme was chaired by District Programme Manager, East Khasi Hills, Shri Wishmanly Pamdhai.

Officers and representatives from Government Departments, viz; Urban Affairs, Shillong Municipal Board, Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd., Meghalaya Urban Development Authority, PHE, Medical Officers of Urban Health Centres under NUHM, Headmen and representatives from the Dorbar Shnong of Shillong Urban areas, attended the programme.
