Shillong, Nov 7: A meeting of parents whose wards are studying in privately-run schools will be held to discuss issues related to including school fees.

A statement issued on Wednesday evening by one of the parents, Banshai Marbañiang said that the Step by Step School’s Parents under his leadership along with A. Papang, will organise a meeting of all parents who send their wards in privately run schools at U Soso Tham Auditorium, State Central Library, Shillong on Saturday from 10 a.m onwards.

On the motive behind the calling of the meeting, Marbañiang said, “most of the privately run schools have been functioning without any regulator and imposed their whims and fancies ranging from school fees to school mismanagement upon the parents of the children studying in their schools which caused extreme anxiety to the parents.”

“In light of the recent issues faced by parents of such privately run schools, we invite all parents who feel a responsibility and obligation to their children to ensure their full education without any hindrance to attend the meeting to air their grievances on the said date and place,” the statement said.
