Shillong, May 8: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the government will take a decision on pay revision for teachers in the next Cabinet meeting.

Deficit school teachers’ associations in the state have demanded from the State government to consider the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission and implement the new pay revision for nearly 7,000 deficit school teachers in the state.

“It (issue) was supposed to be in the agenda of the cabinet meeting (on Tuesday) but the finance department has asked the education department for complete details as there was a calculation that needs to be made with regards to the financial implication,” Conrad told reporters after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
