Shillong, June 28: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has received picture evidence of the secretary of Hima Nongspung, Michael Warjri attending a function during the launch of PMGSY road project by the Assam government.
This was revealed by the KHADC Deputy Chief Executive Member, Pynïaid Sing Syiem after a hearing conducted here on Friday in connection with the No-objection certificate (NOC) issued by the Hima Nongspung to the Assam government for construction of the PMGSY road at Balakhawa in Ri Bhoi District along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
In the pictures, Warjri was seen attending the laying of the foundation stone by an Assam minister, Syiem said.
However, no decision could be taken after the secretary of the Hima has expressed his inability to appear before the Council due to his health condition.
Earlier, the Syiem had also blamed that it was done by the secretary of the Hima alone without his consent.
However, Warjri while appearing before the Council earlier maintained that the NOC was issued to the Assam government with the knowledge of the Syiem.
After the hearing, Syiem informed that the Council wanted to complete the hearing at the earliest possible and the Executive Committee will take a call on the action to be taken.
