Shillong Mar 03: Police have registered a case against miscreants who created a fake website and posted a statement that “police will arrest all who oppose the CAA and demand ILP.”

In the fake website, the miscreants posted a statement, “We will arrest to all who oppose the CAA and Demand ILP, because the problem come from those people. We are here to bring peace in the State.”

“One Facebook user by the name ‘Khasi Paka’ had also uploaded in a Facebook page ‘Ka Sur U Paidbah’ using the name and logo of Meghalaya Police department with an intention to create fake news that Meghalaya Police will arrest those who oppose CAA and Demand ILP. In connection with this, a criminal case will be registered against the user of the account ‘Khasi Paka’ and the admins of the Facebook page ‘Ka Sur U Paidbah’ under the relevant provisions of law,” G K ïangrai, who is the Assistant Inspector General of Police said in a statement.
