Shillong, Mar 26: Prof. SM Sungoh and Prof. Fameline K Marak have officially taken over as Pro-Vice Chancellors of North Eastern Hill University’s (NEHU) Shillong and Tura campuses, respectively.
Initially, both professors had declined their appointments made by NEHU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla in November 2024.
Prof. Marak’s formal joining ceremony as Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Tura campus was held today, attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and students. She expressed her commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment, focusing on academic excellence, infrastructural development, and meaningful research.
Prof. Marak, a distinguished academician, joined the Department of Garo on June 1, 1996. She is one of the senior-most faculty members at NEHU’s Tura campus.
Meanwhile, Prof. Sungoh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Shillong campus, is a renowned academician and educator.
With an illustrious career in higher education, her research and teaching expertise span pedagogy, curriculum development, and educational policy. Prof. Sungoh has made significant contributions to NEHU’s academic growth, engaging in various research projects, publications, and administrative roles.
