Shillong, March 4 : Yajna, religious discourses and processions marked the 182nd birth anniversary of the great 19th century saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa in meghalaya at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Cherrapunji premises.
Earlier, a procession was carried out in the morning in sohra Cherrapunji by the saints and devotees. It passed through several roads with the participants chanting the holy name of Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
As many as twenty tableau by different school(s) of Ramakrishna Mission(s) were taken out along with chariot of Shri RamaKrishna through the streets of Sohra. Thousands of devotees followed the chariot as the mark of respect. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Ankit Kumar Singh, SDO (C), Sohra Civil Sub Division, Shri. Nipon Hajong, EAC, Sohra, Swami Annadannam secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Sohro, teachers, students,Parents and people from surrounding villages.
Cultural programs and Drama were preformed by students depicting the life of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
Speaking to our reporter Swami Annadannam emphasizes on national integrity and thus paving a way for communal harmony.
