Shillong, Oct. 31: The District Administration, East Khasi Hills in collaboration with the District Sports Office, East Khasi Hills and Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills organized a series of programmes on Tuesday in the city to observe the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) and Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas (National Re-Dedication Day).
The Meghalaya Governor, Shri Ganga Prasad flagged off the “Run for Unity’ organised as part of the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) at Madan Iewrynghep, Shillong in the presence of Shri K. N. Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Shri P. S. Dkhar, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District among others.
Starting from Madan Iewrynghep via Malki Point, IGP, DC’s Office, Raj Bhavan and culminated at J.N. Sports Complex, Polo Ground. Deputy Commissioner, Shri P. S. Dkhar, distributes the prizes to the winners and administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to all participants.
In the continuation of the Program Shri D. N. R. Marak, Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District flagged off the cars and bike rally from State Central Library premises. The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shri P. S. Dkhar administered the Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas (National Re-Dedication Day) pledge to all the participants at the venue.
In Sohra Civil Sub-Division, the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Sohra Civil Sub-Division led the Officers and Staff in administering the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) and Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas (National Re-Dedication Day) Pledge at the Conference Hall, Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Sohra.
