Shillong, May 9: Senior NPP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said that regional political parties are “little worried†about their future as the entire North Eastern region is being moved by National People’s Party (NPP).
“The North Eastern states are being moved by the NPP, and the regional parties are little worried about their future,†Tynsong said while speaking at the function organized by the NPP Meghalaya unit to felicitate newly elected MLAs in the state and other leaders from other states who came to participate in the NPP’s regional conference.
Though Meghalaya as of now is having a coalition government, Tynsong however expressed confidence that when it time for seeking re-election, the NPP would come out with flying colours.
Referring to the party’s victory in the just concluded Assembly elections in Meghalaya and other states in the North East, Tynsong praised the leadership of NPP national president and chief minister, Conrad K. Sangma.
“All hard works that we have done in the region, the only person who deserve the credit is our national president (Conrad),†he said.
Tynsong also said that Conrad, as a young and dynamic leader, has inherited the stature of his father late Purno Agitok Sangma, who was the region’s great leader.
