Shillong, Oct 13: Shibor Mawkon & Group from Pynursla, East Khasi Hills has bagged the first prize in the reality show ‘Bharat Ki Khoj’ a search for hidden talent and unique artists from the interior of rural India.

The awards were presented by Ramesh Iyer, Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services at a function held in Mumbai on October 12.
The group led by Shibor Mawkon bagged the award in the grand finale by performing a folk song named “Sur Duitara” competing with other groups from Orissa,Uttrakhand and Gujarat.
The two groups from Meghalaya who were selected for the grand finale were Kitborlang Khyllaid and Shibor Mawkon & group.
Chairman cum Director of Phrang Jingshai Society, Nongstoin, Gerald M.B Iawphniaw led the team to Mumbai.

The district and state level of the reality show was conducted earlier this year.
