Shillong Oct 20: After halting for five years, the Shillong Autumn Festival is back.

For two consecutive days, the festival will be held at the picturesque Water Sports Complex at Orchid Resort in Umïam on October 26 and 27.

The Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum (MTDF) is no longer an organizer as the two-day event will be organized by Opus Productions.

The Autumn festival started in 2006 and it was all organized by the MTDF till 2012.

Opus Productions members, Alethea Lyngwa on Saturday hoped that Shillong Autumn Festival would be a big event in the coming years, adding that maintaining its standard is equally important.

“We want to ensure that the festival remains a family-oriented event,” Lyngwa said.

The highlights of the festival will be music and entertainment with a kids’ zone, traditional food items, and water sports featuring at the resort.

Andreas War, another member of Opus Productions, said the festival would mostly highlight local bands. Musical bands that will perform include Avora Records, Blue Temptation, Black Jack, Wavelength, Roots Reggae Band, Colours, Emperical Tribe, Different Matters, Ribor Mb Productions, besides DJs.
