Shillong MP recommends Rs 1 crore from MPLADS to fight Coronavirus, 1 lakh contributed to CMRF

Pala: I will not succumb to pressures to implement ILP

Shillong Mar 31, 2020: In view of  COVID-19 pandemic, Shillong MP, Vincent H Pala has recommended Rs 1 crore from MPLADS to the director of health services for provisions of ventilators, masks, preventive suits, testing kits and any other devices required for the State Health and Family Welfare department.

“The above works may please be got scrutinized and technical, financial and administrative sanction issued within 45 days of receipt of this letter. The sanctioned works should be completed quickly as per the provisions of the MPLADS guidelines. I may please be kept informed of the sanction and the progress of the works implementation. If any of the recommended works is found non eligible, and if the sanction is delayed beyond 45 days, reasons for the same may be intimated to me,” Pala said in his letter to the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district.

Meanwhile Pala has decided to contribute his one month salary of Rs 1 lakh to the Meghalaya Chief Minister Relief Fund.
