Shillong, Apr 24: The Association of Resource Persons of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Meghalaya (ARPSM) has asked the state government to regularise their service and enhance their salary to Rs 55,000 per month.

In a memorandum submitted to the Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui here on Tuesday, president of the Association, M. Syiemlieh said that resource persons have been serving in the state for the past 14 years and yet they have not been regularised till date.

Urging the government to enhance their monthly salary, Syiemlieh said that taking into consideration price rise of all essential commodities, it is difficult for resource persons to maintain their families with a meager income of Rs 20,493 per month and urged the government to raise the salary to Rs 55,000 per month.

The Association also sought the intervention of the Minister to ensure that the pending eight-month arrears are released at the earliest besides releasing their salary regularly.
