Shillong, May 07: The full budget of the state for the year 2020-21 is likely to be passed in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly this month.

“The full budget will be passed within this month,” Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong told reporters here on Thursday.

Only the vote-on-account amounting to over Rs 4,358 crore was approved during the budget session of the state Assembly in March. The amount was for defraying several charges for the first three months of the current financial year from April 1st  to June 30th.

The budget session was cut short due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
