Protesters burn effigies of PM , HM, Governor and Tura MP

Shillong Dec 10: Protesters burnt the effigies of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, Meghalaya Governor, Tathagata Roy and Tura MP, Agatha K Sangma in protest against the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The protesters burnt the effigies at Motphran on Monday evening after the bandh called by the North East Students’Organisation (NESO).

A protest march from Madan ïewrynghep, Laitumkhrah to Motphran in support of the demand not to implement the CAB was also organized by the citizens and condemned the BJP-led government at the Centre passing the CAB.

The CAB was passed in Lok Sabha on Monday night.

The effigies were also burnt at Tura in Garo Hills, Khliehriat, Jowai, Nongpoh, Mawkyrwat, Nongstoiñ and other places.
