Govt announces Rs 1000 per week for each registered labourer
Shillong, Mar 23: In order to mitigate the distress faced by the Building and Other Construction Workers who are registered with the Labour Commissioner, the State Labour Department has decided and approved to pay an amount of Rs 1000 per worker per week for the wages forgone on account of the shutdown in the state to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
According to an order issued by Principal Secretary (labour department), D P Wahlang, the order will be applicable from March 23 onwards till 29 and will be reviewed further on March 30.
